Course Objectives

The objective of this course is to impart both concept, practical and hands-on training to the prospective candidates on electrical design and engineering of process plants. The course will be focused to provide industrial exposure to the candidates so that they can be easily absorbed by the industries, EPC contractors and consultants.

  • Load Analysis and determination of power requirement calculations
  • Sizing of Power Generators, Transformers
  • AC and DC selections for a given application
  • Development of Single Line Diagrams
  • Small Power and Lighting requirement calculation and generating SLD for the same
  • Motor control schematics – Concept, block diagram, schematics
  • Busbar, Bus Duct sizing
  • Control Schematics for Power and Transformer feeder
  • Selection and Sizing of Emergency Generator, Neutral Grounding Resistor
  • Selection and sizing of HV/MV/LV Switchgears and Capacitor Banks
  • Selection and Sizing of UPS, DC battery, battery charger
  • Technical Specification for electrical equipment – Power Generators, Substations, Transformers, HV/MV/LV Switchgears, AC/DC motors, UPS, Battery etc
  • Technical Specification for Motor Control Centre
  • Substation and MCC Rooms Layout Concepts and drawings

Course Duration

50 hours of class room training and 100 hours of practical exposure over a span of two months

  • BE/B Tech/Diploma in Electronics & Communication(ECE)/Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE)
  • Students appearing in Final year
  • Working professionals in relevant industries/field
